I bought six kilos of Japanese plums from a farmer in Oita to make plum syrup and jam. I needed to wait one day to make it because of my work schedule. The next morning I was filled with happiness because my room was full of its lovely scent. I eat Japanese plums throughout the year to maintain my health. I usually eat pickled ones. I bring dried plums when I travel overseas.


But recently memories of my grandfather’s plum syrup came to me. I drank it with soda and ice on summer nights. It brought up pleasant memories. So I decided to make it.

I need to wait at least two more weeks to drink it. I am sure that I will experience a sweet summer and this will help my body a lot.
